Long Description:
This building has an occupied basement which is accessed by an exterior stair set in an areaway and natural light comes in through windows in an areaway. There have been water infiltration problems in the basement area of this building. Scope of Work The building is surrounded by either concrete or asphalt based paving. The paving needs to be removed to allow the excavation and exposure of the foundation and area way walls. Install a foundation wall waterproofing system down to the footing and a foundation wall drain system connected to the campus site drainage system. After backfilling the exposed wall the paved areas will need to be restored. This project will need to be coordinated with the UNC Chapel Hill Grounds Services Department regarding site drainage systems and the replacement of the paving around the building.
